The GNM Entomology dataset was transferred to a new Specify production database, which is the target destination for the other GNM datasets. Access to the production database installation is limited to GNM Entomology data entry was established in August 2015. The other DINA Entomology groups (NRM and SMTP) access collections within a separate production database. User support for GNM Entomology will be integrated with issue tracking for all DINA Specify users in Fall 2016. A workshop for Specify 6 and 7 orientation and training for GNM staff was conducted in April 2016 by Andrew Bentley (Specify development team, Lawrence, Kansas University).

The test database available to GNM staff during Fall 2015 has allowed users to explore and experiment with the Specify interfaces. It is intended to serve as a reference point for feedback guiding adjustments with respect to data cleaning, form modifications, and label printing. The current iteration of the test database is derived from Specify Workbench imports whereas later imports will be completed using custom import scripts, executed primarily through command line tool workflows.

Data cleaning objectives for Invertebrate Zoology datasets were completed by GNM staff in Spring 2016, and corresponding tasks for type specimen and accession datasets are scheduled for completion in Fall 2016. Administrative tasks such as system configuration and server access for GNM user groups will be identified for implementation at key import milestones.
