- Who does technical adoption / documentation work? Does it work well?
- workshop on documentation planned in February 2023
- Scaling up the code collaboration
- DINA roadmap workshop report
- workshop was a success
- increased interest in DINA
- TODO: write email to attendees as soon as the final roadmap is on GitHub
- DINA TC representation in the ISC
- TODO @all: update https://dina-project.net/wiki/International_steering_committee
- appoint official representative and a substitute
- update https://dina-project.net/wiki/DINA_Technical_Committee
- Satpal representative
- TODO: Find a TC representative who attends the ISC meeting and reports on the activity
- TODO @all: update https://dina-project.net/wiki/International_steering_committee
- DINA as a research infrastructure
- conversations with major large institutions => Open CMS approach: most agree with the appraoch
- DES + GBIF data model changes: research needs to be the main outcome
- DINA is the core, now we need to add the research data pieces
- e.g. measurement data need to be linked to the specimens / samples
- strategy: DINA is a CMS at heart, but moves to be more research driven design: flexibility of model, modular architecture => easy to connect and extend for research
- web site needs to reflect this approach
- TODO: James to create a draft text to improve website
- highlight LIMS and workflows for research
- make data available for research
- combine the ideas of CMS and can fit into a major infrastructure
- research components need to stay associated with the specimens/samples (e.g. environmental samples)
- TODO: Jana, Falko, James to coordinate tasks to update the website (revamp the website)
- Open CMS collaboration vision
- have a clear DINA vision
- manuscript for the principle of the collaboration
- data model first
- as second or third step: maybe adoption story of UEM
- summary: focus on DINA vision/roadmap, then broader Open CMS collaboration perspectives (as publication and/or webpage)
- DINA data model paper
- bring this in the strategy part of the (bi-)weekly meeting
- use cases: permission to recycle from the (unpublished) manuscript
- ideally by the end of the year
- circulate manuscript before Christmas => so it can be discussed in the next ISC meeting
- Report from TDWG meeting
- full success!
- Linking the samples, research and publication
- how to keep track of the provenance
- things are changing: environment samples, bio films, living cultures,
- CMS meetings LIMS, protocols and research workflows linked
- 45 min discussion (most about GBIFs new data model, which is very close to DINA's model)
- audience became more aware of the challenges about how to keep the connections and data is not flat.
- Open CMS spirit was highlighted
- lots of conversation
- e.g. Belgium DiSSCo consortium => very divers. There won't be a single system to cover everything, so DINA is very interesting for them as one component
- Partner reports
- Any other business
- Next meeting
- Thursday, January 26, 14:00-16:00 UTC
